Tanaz Zahedi has demonstrated a strong commitment to organized dentistry, patient care, and service learning in community-engaged initiatives to support the profession and organized dentistry. As the president of the Global Health Student Association and the International College of Dentists Chapter, she participated in global oral health initiatives while assisting her classmates. The global oral health activities included the Christian Medical and Dental Association of San Antonio in the Dominican Republic, as well as local-global oral health initiatives at the San Antonio Refugee Health Clinic (SARHC). As the student leader at SARHC, she mentored pre-dental students, directed her peers, and provided exceptional patient follow-up care. Beyond being a dedicated servant leader, Tanaz is also a skilled problem solver and organizer. She completed training in the UTHSA Leadership in Interprofessional Community Engaged Learning alongside students from the School of Medicine. She will practice general dentistry in Austin, Texas. Dr. Tanaz Zahedi truly embodies the principles of servant leadership.
