USA-ADI Section President

Hello USA Section Fellow of the ADI,

I am most honored to address you as ADI president. Of the honorary academies and colleges, it comprises the most collegial and highly educated people I know. One of the great gifts of ADI is getting to know so many people with such diverse backgrounds, and sharing a common goal.

When I was inducted into ADI in 2002, I was somewhat surprised with some of the works that ADI was funding at the time. I did not realize in 2002 how much I did not know. Over the years observing ADI fellows with different ideas, different passions, and different goals accomplishing great works has been a wonderful education for me. I have been very fortunate to have been one of the many leaders of ADI over the past six years. All ADI leaders have worked diligently to reenergize the ADI and at the same time remain true to ADI’s goal of advancing the science and education for global oral health.

Let us all remember our Academy’s purpose…our devotion to the advancement of dentistry throughout the world and the improvement of oral health for peoples of every nation worldwide. Our Academy has a strong emphasis and commitment to continuing dental education, not only for our members, but any oral health care provider. This dedication to continued education helps us all in our efforts of improving oral health around the world, promoting, encouraging and stimulating oral health research. This is the foundation of the ADI. As Dr. Park so concisely stated, ADI is the “Honor Society for Science, Education, and Global Oral Health”.

We are now in our next 50 years as a prestigious academy, let us all be reminded of the ADI’s purpose. Let us all be mindful of varying opinions and solutions for global oral health improvement. Varying opinions expressed professionally will benefit ADI’s efforts. I would ask that all ADI fellows understand that our organization committed to operations pursuant to its Bylaws. Finally, I would ask that we each do our part to help the dental profession worldwide better understand who we are, what we stand for, and what our past, present and future accomplishments have been and, will be. Please communicate with all of us on any ADI activities or projects that are taking place in your home countries.

To borrow Dr Parks toast, let us all remember…ADI FOREVER!

May all ADI fellows be Blessed and I look forward to our paths crossing in 2025
