Maria "Pili" Peters is set to graduate with a Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree from the Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine-Arizona this spring. Since joining Midwestern University, she has been deeply engaged in advocacy and outreach, actively participating in numerous community events. In August 2024, Pili joined a group of ten fourth-year dental students, three faculty members, and an alumnus on a 14-day mission to Tonga, a Polynesian island nation. During this week-long journey, the team performed over 400 dental procedures, treating an average of 50 patients daily. This initiative was part of Midwestern University's commitment to providing dental care to underserved communities. Pili has also been an active member of the Midwestern University American Student Dental Association (ASDA) chapter, traveling across the United States to advocate for oral health and dental education. Dr. Pili Peters’ dedication to mentorship and her genuine kindness have made her a valued member of the university community.
